Larry Costner, of Bakersfield, also known as "The Tai Chi Guy", is teaching the traditional Yang Style Long Form Tai Chi as taught by the Yang family in China.

A little about me . . .

I first became interested in Tai Chi about fifteen years ago.  I had done some research about healthy exercise, and I found out that Tai Chi was exactly what I was looking for.  You can read about my training here, but suffice it to say, Tai Chi has become a very important element in my life.

Over time, I developed a strong desire to share what I know with others.  When I retired as an elementary school teacher, I finally had the time to devote myself to a vision of expanding the practice of Tai Chi here in Bakersfield.

I have taught Tai Chi at various places, but now teach out of my home.  My Tai Chi instruction is limited to individuals (and very small groups) who are serious about learning, but less serious about formal trappings.

I specialize in beginners (although some of my students have been with me for many years).  I am very patient.  I will take you from where you are, and I promise you won't feel uncomfortable or intimidated!
